The African Academy for Computer Assisted Engineering was founded in 1994, with the three patrons D W Macnamara, C Nsibande and C L Yeatman, identifying a critical industry shortage of well trained draughtsmen.
Within a few weeks and with a sponsorship from the well-kown engineering company Bateman a pilot program of 12 weeks with eight students commenced in May 1994. The Academy has grown in stature and size to its current independent premises in Boksburg East with a capacity to accommodate in excess of 500 learners, with ever
increasing support from the Engineering industry.
