Description

The Skills Programme has been designed to enable you to reach the following outcomes:

  • Understanding of the 9 knowledge areas of Project Management
  • Understanding the different approaches to Project Management between PMBOK and Prince 2, the two widely accepted methods of Project Management
  • Utilising Project Management tools
  • Applying problem solving techniques
  • Scope development
  • Risk identification in projects
  • Knowledge of all documents related to a medium size project
  • Lifecycle of a project
  • Full glossary related to Project Management (PMBOK) and Prince 2
  • Basic understanding of MS Project and other management tools
  • Gantt Charts and other management reports
  • Work breakdown structures
  • Project costing

Admission Requirements

Comprehension and application of the English language at a senior certificate level and basic computer knowledge.

Duration

DEPENDANT ON ENTRIES
Full-time: 5 days (Monday – Friday, 08h00 - 16h00)
Part-time: 14 Saturdays, 09h00 - 12h00
Night classes: 14 Wednesdays, 18h00 - 21h00
  If 2 nights a week – 7 weeks

Additional Costs (books, kits, CD’s)

All additional costs are included in the course fee.

Certification

On successful completion of the programme, the student will receive a certificate, issued by the African Academy.

Who Should Attend

Anyone working with projects, whether as a team member or as a manager.

Anyone who has practical experience in projects but no theoretical knowledge.

Anyone that would like to obtain a Diploma in Project Management without any prior knowledge of Project Management.

This course caters for the relevant embedded knowledge required in the unit standards that need to be completed for achieving a Diploma in Project Management which is acknowledged worldwide.
